DCI Tom Caton has had a pretty eventful eighteen months. After three challenging cases enter
Rob Thornton LLB. Junior Leading Counsel, also based in Manchester. Rob, an up and coming barrister with
a bright future ahead of him, has a reputation for prosecuting rapists and perpetrators of domestic violence.
Until he wakes up one morning to find himself accused of rape. The nightmare appears to be over almost before it
has begun. But he is haunted by the sudden disappearance of the woman who accused him. His attempts to
find her are sidetracked by a series of strange messages and mysterious deaths that attract the attention of DCI
Tom Caton, and Scotland Yard's Fixated Threat Assessment Centre. As he struggles to make the connections he discovers
that his own life, and hers, are in jeopardy. The riveting conclusion, in subterranean tunnels beneath the City
of Manchester, will both challenge and surprise you. Think Ian McEwan meets Val McDermid. You will not be disappointed.
